These Instagram Mistakes Are Costing You Lash Clients

These Instagram Mistakes Are Costing You Lash Clients

For most of us lash technicians, Instagram is our primary marketing channel. It’s that convenient  one-stop-shop for all the networking and marketing work such as:

✔️Our portfolio

✔️Where we find clients

✔️Where clients find us

✔️Customer service platform

✔️+ So much more!

BUT you’ll soon come to realize, or you probably already realized, that IG isn’t exactly as easy as you thought it would be to get the sales you were hoping for.

Hey, don’t you worry because in this blog, we’re spilling the biggest Instagram mistakes that are COSTING YOU lash clients! Mark these down and remind yourself of them so that from now on, you’ll be rocking that IG game, and getting those clients in your door (& on your lash bed)!

Alrighty, let’s jump right to it! 👏

Mistake #1: Not being authentic

Marketing works BEST when you build relationships with your community. BUT in order for this to happen, it’s important that you’re being authentic.

You may think it’s best to make it seem like you’ve been lashing for way longer than you actually have, or pretend to be an expert when you’ve only been lashing for 3 months.

💡Do this instead: It’s actually way more effective to just be you. You’d be surprised how many people are actually interested in seeing your behind-the-scenes, and even just seeing you for who you are, even after work hours. Think about it –wouldn’t you also want to know who that person is that’ll be getting up close and personal with you during the lash appointment?

Potential clients feel much more comfortable coming to you if they get to know who you are. Don’t be shy –just be you! (Of course remember to still act professional) 😉

Mistake #2: Not creating valuable content

Unless you’re marketing to other lash artists, posting captions of exact styling details like CCcurl 7-12mm squirrel style really says NOTHING to clients. Nada. Yep, we’re guilty of havingdone this too.
💡Do this insteadPost about the HOW & WHY lash extensions will change their life.
Informingclients the reasons why they need to book that lash appointment will make them itch to comesee you. Engaging with your audience with content like “how-to’s”, answering FAQ’s, showingthem the life before & the life after eyelash extensions will be way more valuable to them, andactuallyspeak to them! Help them understand that lashes will make their mornings easier, boosttheir confidence, help them save time, and that they're really not that high maintenance!

Mistake #3: Not speaking directly to your ideal client

Nicole Yakielashek, our dear friend and social media expert believes that when you're speaking to everyone, you're not speaking to anyone!
💡Do this instead: Figure out WHO your ideal client is. An ideal client is someone who thinks that your exact service or product is the perfect solution for them. For example, your ideal client may be a woman in her 30's who likes au naturalelashes. Now, think about all the marketing messages that will resonate most with HER. Market directly to your ideal client, NOT everyone.
💡Here’s a little BONUS tip: Never ever forget to add a CTA (call to action) to every post.
Whether this be reminding  clients to save the post, click on a link, tag a friend, book an appointment, it’s important that yougive your potential clients a little nudge. It makes ALL the difference-trust me!
